This accessory is not made to work with iPhone

This message started popping up on my iPhone tonight. Anybody know why or how to turn it off?
I'm not sure what accessory is causing the pop-up. It doesn't seem tied to any particular app.
I've powered off and back on. Didn't matter.

Having the same problem. Nothing plugged in and it pops up every hour or two. I found your post looking online to see if anyone else has this problem and if they know why.

Very aggrivating indeed. All those issues here as well. My Iphone is only a month old. I can't even hear when I am on YouTube there use to be a volume slider and it's completley gone. I am able to hear my phone ring but not txts. The unlock button doesn't sound and I'm sick of the prompt. " this accessory is not made for iPhone" " would you like to turn on airplane mode.
I've hit yes. I've hit no. I have dusted dock. I have removed sim tray. I have called apple who suggested reset. I reset. He also suggested that I plug my ear buds in several times Nd play around with it. NOTHING works. I am at lost what to do. I sure hope there's a good answer right around the corner. Please. If anyone finds out something let me know. Purty please with like whateever u want on top. Rileygurlzmom@yahoo.com,
